Our kids love Christmas Eve almost as much as they love Christmas. It’s become our tradition to go to a Christmas Eve church service and then open stockings before heading to bed. This year the kids opened their ornaments on Christmas Eve as well.
It was tough for me to decide what ornaments to get this year. I always try to tailor it around something each person has done that year and we did soooo many fun things in 2013. I narrowed it down to The Great Lakes or Disney and Disney won out. You only go to Disney World for the first time once (duh!).
Mickey Mouse was Ryan’s favorite all the way up until a few weeks before our Disney trip and then he started talking about Goofy. All while we were at Disney and even now Goofy is his buddy so he received a Goofy ornament.
Ainsley got an ice skating Minnie Mouse because the ornament’s outfit reminded me of something Ains would pick out right down to the red daisy in her hair…. I know… it’s the simple things, right?
Natalie received a caroling Minnie Mouse because this is her first year in her school chorale and it kindof linked the two… she really liked that part.
On to the stockings…
Piper’s was bigger than her….
I stayed up way too late on Christmas Eve wrapping presents, especially since I only slept 3 hours the night before. I vow to wrap presents as I get them from now on instead of waiting to do them all together. Seriously. I was delirious by the time I fell into bed and was pretty cranky (although hopefully I covered it well) on Christmas morn. The kids were not cranky! After reading about the Jesus’ birth and talking about why we give presents on Christmas, we opened ours.
Natalie gave Henry a framed picture of the two of them from our Disney trip for his office at work.
Ryan got the large Woody doll he couldn’t afford (but talked about weeks after the trip) his Disney allowance. He was stoked and has carried Woody around every moment since.
The girls American Girl dolls. The look on their faces says it all.
Last but not least, we let Natalie get Taurus some treats for Christmas. The kids brought her in to open her gift. 🙂
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

love the picture of the 4 kids in front of the fire place. Great kids – great parents. They are also very blessed to have a great grandma. Have a good day. Becky
