Our little man is out of the cath lab and recovering in the CICU. The cath started around 1 pm and ended about 5 pm.
The interventionist (cath dr) was able to balloon open the cor membrane AGAIN! This is something we thought wasn’t probable. It’s a temporary fix, but a necessary one. The rigidity of the membrane was actually higher than the ECHO showed thus sending the pressures in Ryan’s pulmonary arteries through the roof. In fact, they were so high it would’ve been extremely risky for him to go into surgery.
The decision before us now is how long do we wait to cut the membrane out of Ryan’s heart. The team is waiting to see how Ryan recovers before going over timelines…. so for now we are in a holding pattern.
We’ll be in-house a few more days until we’re sure he’s completely stable before making the long trip home.
Thank you for taking the time to update your blog on Ryan’s condition. My thoughts and prayers are with you Henry and the girls and as alway’s little man.
Ok Leighann..we will certainly be praying. Thanks so much for the update…and for the sweet picture of our boy! Give him a kiss from me. He is planted firmly in my heart!
