The infection check from last week resurfaced overnight. Ryan ran a short fever yesterday and his blood gases show his white cell blood count is high indicating infection. While the tests all came back negative, it is impossible to test for every single infection out there. So, the team decided to push Ryan’s cath until the end of the week assuming his blood count comes back to normal.
So for now we are sitting in a holding pattern until Ryan’s white cell count returns to normal. I am hoping they will continue inflating his expanders so we don’t lose any ground in preparing for the Glenn. We (by we I mean the medical team – I just like to feel like I’m part of them!) walk a fine line trying to accomodate Ryan’s varying needs of skin expansion, heart function, breathing function, and staying healthy.
Thank you for your prayers this morning. My prayer continues to be that God would make clear the path to take with Ryan’s care. And, a fever yesterday preventing a cath today is clear enough for me. I’ll keep you updated as I know more.

You are a strong family Leighann, and that includes little Ryan. We will all continue to pray…
I know this is definitely not what you were hoping for, but God has a plan. We’re keeping you all in our prayers. Be still and know that He is God. This is so hard. In fact, I’m not doing very well at it right now myself. Thanks for keeping us updated.
Just thought I would let you know you have a award on my blog.
