A General Run-Down…

June 20, 2011/Pittsburgh
I’m not quite sure where to start. So much has happened in the last five days and I’m terribly behind on chronicling it all. I could just randomly type what is in my head, but I think my brain will work better if I type it day-by-day… so here goes.
Wednesday:
Ryan, Taurus and I headed up to Hagerstown to drop my car and our cat at my mom’s house. Ryan entertained himself in the back seat.
Taurus tried to forget where she was and curled up between Ryan’s car seat and her litter box. (This is a vast improvement from her typical crying-at-the-top-of-her-lungs-while-digging-her-nails-into-my-lap mode.) I was very proud of her. She’s meowing at me in this picture.
Thursday:
Ryan and I headed out with a realtor for a day of looking at houses. Henry and I put an offer on a house that weren’t completely ga-ga over, but that was nice, functional, turn-key and has a great backyard. That night, Henry and I went to the musical “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” at one of the theaters in downtown Pittsburgh with our realtor and her husband. She happened to have extra seats and found out we wanted to see it. Yea! She even helped us arrange for her friend’s 16 year-old to watch Ryan during the show. We like her….
Friday:
Found out we did not get the house. There were seven offers. The people who got the house also are in temporary housing and had ‘lost’ 5 priors houses.
Saturday:
Drove around an area of the city called Squirrel Hill and Shadyside to see what was on the market. It’s a charming area, but the schools aren’t that great. Hmmm….
We stopped for lunch at a Crepes place.
While Henry ordered our food, Ryan and I took pictures of each other.
After lunch we did a lot of walking.
Saw some cool things… (including U of Pitt’s Cathedral of Learning)

Rode a carousel.

And walked to the edge of Schenley Park.
We ate dinner at a little hole in the wall that was absolutely fabulous and deserves a post of its own.
Sunday:
Went to Sunday service at a church within walking distance of the apartment. The nursery lady did not have a cow or faint when I showed her Ryan’s defect. Really, everyone takes it all in stride.
Ate lunch at home and relaxed most of the afternoon. Henry’s brother Ryan stopped by on his way home from Indiana. We took little Ryan to Schenley Park and then ate out on the town.
We still don’t have a house so that will be the focus of this week…. what did you guys do over the weekend?

It’s so nice to catch up with you. My computer cord died and it took a week to get replaced then our lives turned crazy, so I am way, way behind on blogging and also don’t know where to begin.

I will pray that you find a great house. I learned house-hunting there is no one perfect house out there, hopefully you will find the one that will become your home.

Seeing Ryan running around completely unattached to any medical equipment, completely looking like any other kid – it just makes me smile so big!! <3

I haven’t stopped reading, just don’t have time to sit at the computer to comment and doing it from my phone is a pain.

Ryan is amazing. Totally and utterly amazing!
