The Helper
John 14:15, 16, 24-26 If you love me, you will keep My commandments. And I will ask the Father and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever…He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me. These things I have spoken to you, while abiding with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.
Activity: Fill a laundry basket with a stack of books too heavy for one child to carry (with older children you might need to get creative). Have each child try to lift the basket. When they can’t do it alone, offer to help them. Lift it together. Explain that keeping God’s commandments on our own is impossible. The Holy Spirit helps us with our load and enables us to keep God’s commandments.
