It hit me yesterday that I’m 36 weeks pregnant as evidenced by this picture (when I was actually only 35 weeks pregnant). We stopped at my sister Amy’s on the way to Orlando. She lives in St. Augustine. Although it was overcast and chilly, we took the kids to the beach where we had to drag them out of the water an hour later. Seriously. They were loving it!
But back to me being only FOUR week away from my due date. Where did the time go? I’m pretty much waking up every day wondering when this child will enter the world. At this point, with Disney out of the way, we could have her and not “mess” anything up. Of course we have nothing ready – no crib, no carseat, etc. etc. Those should arrive in the next few weeks, but things would work out. They always do.
My appetite arrived a few weeks ago. I’m ravenous all day which pretty much means I’m eating all the kids Halloween candy in between meals and snacks.
I feel like I’m not as big as with the other kids… especially Ryan. Ohmylands did he tax my body. I prayed for a big baby (heart babies are typically very tiny and have trouble gaining weight) and was very pleased when he arrived 2 weeks early at 8 lbs 8 oz. This baby isn’t that big I don’t think. Although at my last appointment as my doctor felt around my stomach she casually said, “Wow, big head.” Can’t say that was very reassuring. My sister measured my belly to prove I am smaller…. I’m measuring 37″. I was 39″ with Ryan, but I still have a few weeks to go!
We don’t have a name yet although I’ve been bringing it up more often as Dec. 9 approaches. The running joke at Disney was that if I went into labor on a certain ride/park her name would be around that theme. Thankfully her name isn’t going to be Ariel, Jasmine, Lilo, or Jessie.
I wrote a list of things on the way home from Florida of I need to do before the baby comes. It’s long. It may not get done, and I intentionally left things off of it like refinishing the foyer table even though it’s something I really really want to get done. Why is it that we moms feel like we won’t be able to get anything done once the baby arrives. Oh yeah, it’s because we’ve been there, done that and KNOW we won’t get anything done after the baby arrives. At least not for the first 3 months. Oh gosh, I better run. I have a list to get done!

Wow! That went way too fast (for me, I’m sure not for you.) I know the sisters and I had wanted to get up to see you before the baby comes, but I guess we will probably have to wait now (with Thanksgiving and all) until the precious bundle arrives! Yay! Even more reason to want to visit! We’ll wait till you have settled in, of course. I wish you all the best with this delivery! Hugs!!
ahh dang I want a niece named Mulan.
You are so cute Leighann! I am sure that the things that need to get done will…and the other stuff can wait! As you said, you got the Disney thing accomplished and I am sooo glad y’all got to do that. 🙂 It is such a wonderful place…and I know the kids loved it…and probably you big kids loved it too! Tee hee!!!
Wow…this pregnancy sure went by fast for me ha!…it seems that I just found out you were expecting, and now it is only 4 weeks until delivery! I pray you will have an easy delivery. You will have several little helpers with this little one, and yes, even Ryan can be a help. I am certain you will all be thrilled to welcome this new little girl!
I will be waiting and watching for the news of her arrival!
Love, Linda
