Surgery Update

March 5, 2009/Ryan

We just spoke with the head cardiac surgeon at Children’s; the team is currently closing up Ryan’s chest. He performed the heart surgery and said that it went very well. In his words “Ryan had his first break today, it’s about time … we found a good place on the PA to connect the gortex tube. Now we need growth (referring to the pulmonary arteries).”

We are told his sats are in the 80s post surgery and his heart seems to be tolerating the additional blood flow, which is very good. He will be under observation for the time being. We’ll get to see him soon. We’ll update again once we have more information. Thanks to everyone for their prayers.

Praise the Lord. We will take one small step at a time. I was in fervent prayer as i awoke at different times in the night and i know of two other mothers who prayed during the night too. God has placed ryan on many hearts and is continuing to work his perfect plan.

All of our lives are in God’s hands. We know that and Ryan is no exception. We serve a God who put an ear back on a soldier and brought a man back to life who had been dead for three days among miracles. I know God CAN do anything but I have to admit I felt such a sense of relief this morning after the surgery went well that God’s will this morning was to touch little Ryan’s heart and allow a successful hook up of the gortex tubing. Thank you Jesus! Ryan is fulfilling God’s purpose on his own little unique path of life. You are in my continued prayers. Love ya, mom Ennis
