Who needs a housekeeper when you have kids.

February 9, 2011/kids
I was feeling behind the 8 ball Monday and Tuesday. Having returned from a great weekend away and a whole four days without my computer, I had a lot of catching up to do with school volunteer work, email responses and internet browsing. Oh yeah, and house work, although my mom did several things on my to do list while I was away.
Tuesday was paperwork day which left me on the phone or at my desk most of the day and holding a cranky Ryan the other part of the day. By the time Natalie came home from school I was feeling overwhelmed with getting the first floor under control.

However, leave it to Natalie…. she came home in the mood to play servant girl. So she and Ainsley came to me in their aprons and announced they were my servants. I had to tell them what to do and they would do it. So they HAPPILY cleaned the entire first floor…. family room, playroom (which was in need of a good cleaning) and foyer. I spend the time making dinner and sweeping the kitchen. Oh and Natalie went through the bin and a half of kids clothes my sister returned to me and made an itemized IRS list so I can donate them tomorrow. Seriously. That kid rocks.

By the time dinner was on the table, the first floor was ready to be vacuumed and mopped by yours truly without me having to pick up all the junk first. I love playing servant!!
Poor Ryan is still sick. There are sores in his mouth (leading me to diagnose him with hand, foot and mouth, although that is not official) and his throat seems to be swollen. He wanted to be held most of the day and was only able to eat some soft bread and pretzels (yeah, who would’ve thought pretzels). Here he is sleeping with a pretzel in his hand while I listen to Natalie read.

Poor baby. Okay, hopefully off to the grocery store, goodwill, and target for diapers today and that’s it. Gonna rock my baby a little more and try to mop these floors.

Your servants are adorable. So glad they were a big help to you.
Poor Ryan. Hope he starts feeling better soon.

I hope Ryan is feeling better soon. Can you send your little servant girls over? I could sure use them to clean after my boys. I doubt they would think the aprons and cleaning fun…no matter how hard I have tried to convince them.

My little guy had something similar not too long ago. His mouth was full of sores (looked like canker sores), he begged for food then cry when he ate and smelly saliva was constantly coming out of his mouth. It was over Christmas so the clinics and doctor’s office was all closed. I could have taken him to the hospital but we had some nasty bugs going around so I went in to talk to the pharmacist. She suggested it was bacterial so I picked oral antibiotic rub and oragel and it worked! Not sure if it’s the same thing Ryan has but I hope he gets better soon.

Could maybe be a yeast infection – called Thrush – develops on the mouth, throat and tongue. Worth a Google! Hope he’s feeling better. I feel like I know him!
I’d like to rent the girls too – let me know when they’re available to come to Ohio! 🙂
