The Official First Day

September 7, 2012/Ryan
Okay, okay, I know we’ve talked about the first day of preschool for like a week now, but today was really Ryan’s first official full (read 2.5 hours) day of preschool. And let me tell you, he was excited. He put his backpack on to take the girls to the bus stop. When it rolled up he put his little finger to his chest and said, “Me? Me?” We had the whole conversation again about me driving him to preschool.
Here he is being excited for his first day.
Here he is super-excited.

Pointing to a picture of Mickey Mouse on the door.

One of their jobs is to find their name tag when they arrive.

“I did it!” He said.

Their teacher gives them a picture that matches one on the rug where they start the day.

His was the house. See it there? He found it all by himself.

And this is where I slipped out the door for a quiet 2 hours. Very quiet. And then he was home again.
p.s. His teacher stopped me at the door at pick-up and said, “We did an alphabet puzzle today. Did you know Ryan knows all his letters?!”  She was very impressed. Cute. He’s known them for a year, and what they say, and words that start with them. He’s obsessed. His new thing is numbers. He can count to 13 and recognizes 1-10. I’d say he’s ready for preschool, wouldn’t you?

Wow – this is the baby we prayed would live! I didn’t pray that he would successfully go to preschool and blow them all away with his knowledge! God is good! Such a blessing to be able to follow….
