Sunday afternoon I took the girls to see the Nutcracker with Ainsley’s Daisy troop. There was a little ballet class before the performance (I was able to slip Natalie in since she’s a sibling and a girl scout as well). Ainsley wasn’t feeling the best on Sunday, but was adamant she still wanted to go to the ballet. She sat out of the class though. It was just Natalie, who seemed to have a lot of fun.

First position.

Another position (can you tell I never took ballet?!)

Learning the steps for the mice dance.

At the theater with some of the girls.

Poor girl

Looking over the program…

I really wondered how the girls would do watching a performance that didn’t have any words: spoken or sung. I was surprised when they were literally on the edge of their seats. It helps they know the gist of the story. At the beginning, Natalie kept asking me when the dream would start. She was totally into it. Ainsley liked it too, but since she wasn’t feeling well was a little less enthusiastic.
I fell asleep during the first half. I was sitting still in a dark room with soothing music, what can I say! However, it was fun being out with the girls doing something girlish. I can’t wait to plan another outing!
