Thank you to all who are following the progress of our little Ryan and praying for our family. We read every comment and email sent to us and appreciate all the words of encouragement. We don’t have much to report this morning other than his vitals look great and his breathing rate is increasing so while he is still on the breathing tube, they are turning the ventilator down a bit to let him take over more.

I was able to visit Ryan twice yesterday and held him last night for the first time. I didn’t know if and when I’d be allowed to hold him so was very excited to do so. He has a little mat he lays on so we weren’t skin to skin and he has lots of tubes, but it was great to have him so close to be able to talk and sing to.

Henry went and bought him socks because I was concerned his feet were cold. It was a four pack. He brought them to my room first for me to look at and then said, “He’s wearing the ‘I love daddy’ socks first.” He was so matter of fact about it I decided it was best not to argue. 🙂 He lovingly put them on Ryan’s feet when we arrived at the CICU before removing his own coat or hat. I think Ryan may have taken daddy’s heart just like our first two girls. It is precious to watch.

Again, a big thank you to everyone. We will keep you in the loop as we hear anything.

I am reading your story and I just started to cry. I am so glad that Ryan is doing so well! What a relief. And that you already got to hold him…God is so great!

Leighann, how are you feeling? Did the C-section go well?

We have been thinking and talking a lot about you and will continue to pray for all of you and especially for little Ryan!

I am so pleased to hear that everything is going well. The sock story is so beautiful that I could not help but shed a tear. You know that I am not the most religious of people but every time I see the updates I can’t help but acquire some sense of faith.

    Love to all of you,

Oh Leighann, I am praying for you and thinking of you, praise God you got to hold your baby.

Nothing like holding your baby for the first time. The tubes and wires are intimidating at first but it will get better. I’m glad you got to sing to him and love on him. I am so thankful to God for what He has done already for little Ryan. Give little Ryan a kiss from his Aunt Johanna.
PS might have to start a journal of the funnies your kids are saying.

    Henry and Leighann,

I am so glad to read how well little Ryan is doing! I have been keeping you guys and him in my prayers.

I also love the sock story – reminds me very much of Dan. Whenever he dresses Mia, it’s almost a guarantee that she’ll be wearing her “I love daddy” tee-shirt!

    Take care!

So glad to hear that baby Ryan is breathing better. I was shocked at how much he weighed. That’s a good sign. We’ve been following your story on-line and have our church praying as well.
    Blessings!

I love how daddies are daddies from the very moment it all begins. And I’m glad to hear of the protective skin – praise God! and breathing more and more … and getting to hold your baby!!!

I know there are many ups and downs and lots of loss-of-control moments. And I just continue to pray for you, for Ryan…and for all those who are helping you.

    Blessings,
    Karin

    Leighann,
Just saw the note about your baby Ryan on Johanna’s facebook account. I have been in a fog or something, for I did not know about this. I am praying for you and for your little guy even at this moment. Wow. I pray that God’s presence and His grace would be above and beyond all that you think or ask for.
