Henry has a love/hate relationship with our cat, Taurus. He loves to hate her. She came into our family 10 years ago. He has been asking for about five of them how long cats live. I can’t really blame him. At about one year old she developed the habit of vomiting – every day. I took her to the vet and they put her on a hypoallergenic diet which made her throw up less often, but did not make the problem go away.

She’s also a bit neurotic. She has a long, deep meow that sometimes startles our guests. We get many comments about her voice and her constant ‘talking.’ The worst is when we’ve been away on a trip and we come home to her yelling at us. She keeps it up for about two hours…I’m guessing it’s because she’s female and tries to fit all her words from the last few days into that two hours. But it really is annoying.
About two years ago, Henry started claiming he is allergic to cats. I claimed he was just trying to make me get rid of Taurus. Today, he visited an allergist and the verdict is….
He’s NOT allergic to cats!
He informed the nurse he wasn’t going to mention this little fact to me, but it came out while we were discussing what he is allergic to. She did tell him he could be mildly allergic to cats, but would have to have a more invasive test to find out. Having been pricked multiple times within a 2 hour window, he politely declined. Although, he did admit he was tempted to have it done just so he could prove to me once and for all that Taurus makes him sick. I hate to say it, but I win! 🙂

I would like to point out that the doctor said I was likely allergic, but the test just didn’t pick it up because it is mild.
