Ryan had a quiet night and is resting. He remains on a vent and quite doped up, but is doing beautifully. His body is having normal reactions to open heart surgery, but the team is working to keep him as comfortable as possible. He was very agitated every time he pushed through his sedation meds yesterday, but today seems pretty happy when he happens to wake up.
We do not have many concrete answers for the next step. There are different opinions flying around and Henry and I are simply taking one day at a time. The biggest question everyone has is when plastics and general surgery will be able to perform the procedure to address Ryan’s structural defects. With Ryan’s amazing tolerance of the Glenn yesterday, we’ve heard mention of early to late next week.
Please continue to pray for Ryan’s little body, for wisdom for us and the doctors. We are no where near being out of the woods. The cardiac surgeon told us yesterday that while he felt Ryan would come through the Glenn he could not predict how his body would respond over the coming months to being ‘closed in’. It is a lot for his little body to adjust to. So, we pray that he continues to amaze everyone who comes into contact with him. And, that they would further be amazed by the One who created Ryan.

was sitting here reading your blog and telling Eli all about Ryan’s surgery and how he is doing well. We are rejoicing and continuing to pray. Eli wants Ryan to know he is praying and loves him. He wishes he could sit by him in the hospital and read to him. he liked reading books when he was in the hospital. Hugs
