Here are this week’s seven quick takes. To join the party, click here.

We moved for the second time Thursday and we have one more move to go. I will be glad when all the moving is over. But to be honest, living in friends’ houses who are on vacation isn’t all bad. It’s like we are on vacation, but better. The houses have different toys for the girls to go ga-ga over, there are no house projects looming over my head, no yard to mow. The flip side is that we are living out of suit cases and the counters look like they vomited ‘Ryan’ supplies, but it’s all good!

I found out we will be able to move into our new house next weekend. Yeah! We weren’t sure if the sellers were going to move over the weekend (pushing our move until the following weekend) or before the weekend. They are moving Friday. We will move in Saturday. I’m stoked.

For the last couple days, our kids have been watching this:

A mommy and daddy cardinal nesting right outside our my friend’s kitchen window. I think the eggs might have hatched since Thursday, the mommy bird had a worm in her mouth and was doing this:

I never got a glimpse of little beaks though even though I stood on the kitchen counter to try and get a better view.

We also had a visit from young bambi:

As we watched him proceed to work his way around these lovely hostas, I said to Henry, “Do you think we should stop him?” But we decided he would mostly likely just come back. So we took a picture instead! It was then I decided it is a waste of time to plant hostas in our neck of the woods…. our friends even have a fenced in back yard.

5
Last Friday Henry and I went with friends to a Rain concert (a Beatles cover band). The lead singer said how great it was to see young faces in the crowd. We hooted and hollered. Then he asked everyone 18 and younger to raise their hands. Eighteen? We looked sheepishly at each other. Since when are we not part of the younger crowd? And who starts the younger crowd at 18?!

6
Ainsley looked at me the other day and said, “If we cut our hair will we lose all our strength?” Apparently they talked about Sampson in Sunday School last week and it has her thinking…
