This week in seven quick takes, I am highlighting my favorite things. You know, kindof like “O” does every year around Christmas. But it’s not Christmas and I”m not a famous talk show host. So I guess it’s not really the same thing at all…. anywho, I hope you enjoy the list anyway.

1
Virtual Filing: Several months ago I created a private blog on blogspot (for free) that I named Virtual Filing. I’ll give you one chance to guess what it is…. Um, yes. How did you know? It’s my virtual filing cabinet where I blog reminders, make lists (shocker!), and keep my thoughts, menus, blog ideas, and deepest thoughts online and accessible from any computer – whether I’m at the hospital, at home, or at someone else’s house. I find it so handy now that I am hardly home. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

2
Personalized Ribbon: I tried to upload a good picture of this ribbon, but became impatient with my camera (and my lack of ingenuity) so here’s a bad picture of it.

I’m not sure if I’ve confessed this before, but I can’t stand visual clutter. This includes normal clutter like piles of junk mail, piles of books, piles of clothes.. well, you get the picture, piles of any kind.  It also includes things you might not think about like writing or highlighting in books, crossing things out on a page (other than marking off lists of course), and labeling clothes. I know, I’m really sick. Now that both girls are in school, there are quite a few things that need labeled and it hurts my heart every time I write on a piece of clothing. Sooo, I ordered 10 ft. of ribbon with our last name on it from a wedding supply website. My plan is to stitch our last name on everything from now on… nice and neat.

As a mother of three young children, I find it hard to have a very long quiet time with God. “My Utmost for His Highest” by Oswald Chambers lives on the back of mytoilet… It gives me a few precious moments each day to reflect on scripture and growth. The man is profound and deep. I highly recommend this devotional to anyone looking to grow in their relationship with God.

I believe I talked about the Pump Ease Bra in this post. I don’t need to (but will) repeat that it is my best friend right now as I go on seven and a half months of exclusively pumping. My shoulders, neck and arms would be sore (from holding my own pump) and I wouldn’t get nearly as much blogging done without it. Yes, I am spoiled.

My new crockpot. It has settings for 4, 6, 10, and 12 hours. Once it cooks the food for the set time, it goes to a warm setting. Love it! It allows me to use recipes that would be overcooked if I left them all day which is crucial since I need dinner ready right when I get home on Mondays.

This man still makes my heart beat faster and sends chills up my spine when I see him across the room, even after 16 years. *gushing* He had me at…well… he had me hello.

What are your favorite things?

Great pic of Henry, Leighann…I’m so glad he still has you from that first hello! My favorite thing (at least for Summer) is flip-flops. I know they aren’t fancy, and some make annoying noises, but they are oh so convenient for moms on the run. Love them!!

Love my crock pot. It is one of my favorite things. I am sure you have seen this blog, but I will share it just in case, http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/. It is one of my favorite recipe sites.

I love Oswald Chambers!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I should put it in my bathroom – that is an excellent idea!

I also love my crockpot. I hear rumors of crockpot liners but I have yet to try them. Apparently they are the best thing since sliced bread.

My mostest favoritest thing in the whole widest world right now is Sea Bands.

I’m sure your time is valuable. Mileskimball.com sells a iron on label much like your ribbon. It would be a little quicker to label everything. I’ve been using it for years. Hope this helps.

Ugh! I wish I had known about the iron-on!! Oh well, at least it will be a little stitch and not a lot. 🙂

You are a woman after my own heart…. Oswald in the bathroom? It’s so hard to find a quiet moment, and I am never too proud to read a devotional in “there” and My Utmost has been in my bathroom for years, lol.

Praying for your family… your blog is lovely.
