Docs say Ryan will be on the vent for another week, possibly two until his cold passes. He’s responding well to treatments and isn’t in any pain. Just so we all remember what he’s like awake…

Oh honey I am so sorry. I will call my prayer team, pray this cold ends faster, pray for complete healing of Ryans lungs. Praying for peace and endurance for you and the family while we wait. Little guy sure is tough.

Praying for healing for Ryan and patience and trust for the family. Time moves slowly watching a child on a vent but as you said, he is peaceful and not in pain. That is worth a lot. Take Care.

Praying for you all in MN.

Wondering if there are any long term effects of being sedated that long?

Again I say unto you. That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Hey Lady…just checking in with you again this morning. Started my day off praying for Ryan. Praying for Henry and the girls today too. Hang in there…you’ve got a lot of people thinking about you!!

@The Greene’s – there are long-term affects to sedation… muscle atrophy, stiff joints, and an immobile gut. The nurse’s do a really good job of moving Ryan so he doesn’t get stiff… and two or three weeks isn’t really long enough for the muscle atrophy. Also, if you continue feeding the patient through a feeding tube, the gut continues functioning. They’ve had some issues getting the feeding tube down far enough and will try again today.

Hospitals can be so isolating even with all of the people around. I hope that you can feel the prayers even on the days when you are not blogging. I don’t stop thinking or praying for your miracle-boy, Ryan.

Praying it’s less than what they are saying.
