Memorial Day Weekend 2014

May 29, 2014/Family

Henry’s cousin and family came to visit for the weekend. We get together with Anthony and Megan a couple times a year. Their kids and ours play so well together. Of course I don’t have pictures of the adults. Megan was nice enough to take a picture of our family on Saturday when we headed to the zoo.

The kids loved the zoo and aquarium. The weather couldn’t have been better. The polar bear exhibit was especially fun because one of the bears was playing with a ball and kept coming up to the glass. Ainsley and Ryan had a fantastic view.

Ryan saw this kayak and asked to have his picture taken.

After a fun day of seeing animals and hanging out, we brought the kids home and left them with a sitter so us adults could have a nice dinner in the city. We went to a little Italian place called Piccolo Forno in Lawrenceville. I really enjoyed the lamb and mushroom risotto. Yum!

Sunday after church we all went swimming at our neighborhood pool. Natalie is a fish and swam and swam with Carly. Ainsley knows how to swim but spent most of last summer glued to the wall. She ventured off the wall this past weekend which gave me hope she might try to make swim team work this summer.

Ryan went back and forth between me in the baby pool and his dad in the “big” pool.

Piper had her first pool experience and seemed to enjoy it. How could she not with all the attention from her sisters?

After Anthony, Megan and the girls left on Monday, our family went up to Morraine State Park to go bike riding. Unfortunately we found out you can’t rent a bike trailer for a baby under 12 months old. We switched it up and went hiking instead.

We made the best of the day and enjoyed a shaded hike by the old grismill down by the river. It was absolutely gorgeous.

I’m not sure we could’ve packed more in if we’d have tried. It was a very blessed weekend.
