It’s been a long time for me, but not for you.

April 6, 2015/Confessions

Whew!  Easter is over and so is Lent. Breathe deeply. Smell that fresh air?

As fun as it was walking the 40-day journey with you, the longer it went on, the more I realized how much I enjoy sharing my every-day-living life with you and have been longing to do just that.

If you are a subscriber you received two Insider Editions during the six weeks, the last one sharing that we had stomach bug for almost a week straight. That was fun.

I’ve now seen Anne of Green Gables – The Continuing Story and the BBC’s 5-hr version of Pride and Prejudice within a very short time span. I recommend both with a big bowl of popcorn. Piper agrees.

The silver lining of the six weeks break from regular blogging is that I had a time of rest and reflection that I’m grateful for. It did not leave me very much time for cleaning, because, well, just because.

The break gave me a renewed passion to write about what I’m learning and hopefully empower others to live authentically, not from a place of obligation, expectation, or fear. I want to make this blog a place where it’s safe to be human because I need that place and I’d venture to say other people do too. A place where we can admit we’re struggling, have questions, or need a little grace to grow without feeling judged.

Our kids need a place to be human too… I’ll be talking about that in an upcoming post.

mom and I have done the 40 day walk with you but I have sure missed your posts but I did get my newsletter and was sorry to hear that the bug found it’s way to your house & the sprained ankle. The ugly “shingles” found it’s way to my mom 3 weeks ago and they are still hanging with her. the 40 day walk was excellent. Loving Spring and looking forward to more pretty days ahead

I concur! It was a great 40 but missed the regular too. The “inside editions” were a great little peek and I’m sorry to hear you had the sickies over there.

    Happy Easter!

Agree 100% – I loved the 40 day journey, and was so glad to be able to do so many of the activities with my young students. So, once again Leighann – thank you! But, I’ve missed the ‘regular’ posts. Look forward to those again. Happy Easter!
