Introducing Henry V

February 20, 2009/Baby Boy

Leighann and I put a lot of thought into a name for Baby Boy. His name will be . . . Henry Ernest Marquiss V, making him the fifth Henry Ernest in our family tree.

Henry V was one of the most significant kings of the 15th century and reigned as King of England from 1413 to 1422. Having two Henrys in the house and a grandpa named Henry will be confusing so we decided to give him a nickname, Ryan. In Gaelic, Ryan means “a little King”, which we feel is fitting for Henry V. It is also in honor of my brother who bears that name.

We will call him both Ryan and Henry.

I think, despite all the tape on his face, that he looks like Henry IV. What a beautiful miracle he is. I’m crying like a stupid sap now.

Henry V is gorgeous! Look at that full head of hair (much like Natalie and Ainsley at that age, if I recall correctly). Thank you for the update.

What a great and thoughtful name. I love that you came up with the nickname to make things a little less confusing…and one with real meaning behind it as well. I have a feeling this little fellow will be the real “little king” of the house! Good luck to Dad with keeping his crown once Mom and the two girls get to know this guy more and more!
