I just wanna soak up the sun.

May 15, 2013/Family

I’m having trouble with my photos. I always do when I’m here. This is what I have so far… sideways and all!

We’ve spent most days at the beach and pool. Yesterday, though, we took the ferry to Cozumel. We rented a VW bug (this one had better brakes than the last time) and some scooters and toured around the island. The kids had fun playing at the beach – Natalie and I searched for shells while Ryan and Ainsley played in the sand on the shore. Daddy slept in a hammock! Yeah, we have a rough life here!!

These pictures aren’t from yesterday. They’re from Monday. Ryan trying on snorkel gear…. (look how private the beach is here…. not another soul in site behind Ryan)

Ainsley (and Ryan behind her though you can’t see him) playing in the sand with Uncle Evan.

Everywhere you go people try to sell you something, even on the beach. Here’s a photographer and lizard handler (?) showing us their Iguana. My sister-in-law and Natalie got their picture taken with the Iguana. Natalie showed no fear, another testament to her adventurous spirit. I love watching her see an opportunity and grab it. Ainsley nor Ryan wanted to hold it, but they did pet it and feel his scaly skin.

I love the opportunity we have to come and spend a week with family. The kids LOVE being with their aunts and uncles. It gives them a chance to really get to KNOW them and spend time with them for a long time unlike at home or even at holidays. These are memories they’ll remember for a lifetime. And me too, of course.  Now off to another day in the sun!
