Don’t try the McDonald’s praline and cream McFlurry

September 25, 2013/Confessions

Don’t try McDonald’s praline and cream McFlurry. I’m warning you now. You’ll be disappointed…. that IT’S ONLY SNACK SIZE! I may have driven through Mickey-Ds today for an ice cream treat while out on the road doing some errands. I may have ordered a pralines and cream McFlurry instead of the 49 cent cone. I may have slurped it down so fast it didn’t have time to melt.

Over the last few weeks I’ve been craving sweets like a mad woman; been hoarding them in cabinets and at the back of my fridge where my family can’t see them and eating them at odd hours of the day.

My friend Manita told me that girls make you crave sweets. Good thing I’m having a girl or I’d have to make up some other excuse for eating cookies, brownies and ice cream.

The other day a girl scout mom made the leaders brownies – cause we’re Brownies now, get it? Clever. It took me half the meeting to realize that’s why she made them.  Anywho, I did NOT tell my children about the 5 brownies I brought home. I did not tell them then nor did I tell them when I snuck up to my room while they were doing their homework and practicing their instruments to eat two of them in privacy.  A little milk would’ve been a good to wash them down, but I couldn’t chance them seeing me with a glass in my hand. It wasn’t worth having to share. So instead I closed my bedroom door, lay down on my bed, and scanned Facebook on my phone while slowly enjoying a snack.

I’m hoping this issue goes away when the baby’s born…. or at least by the time I’m done nursing. Otherwise, someone may need to stage an intervention. Just sayin’.

If you do try the pralines and cream McFlurry. Don’t blame me. I tried to warn you.

Haha! I’ve been known to hide my favorite candy/snacks from my family!! We moms need those extra treats/rewards to give us the energy to take care of everyone! No guilt here (well, maybe not too much guilt, lol). Hang in there!
