Cultivating Calm in a Hectic World

February 24, 2017/Clear Your Mind

Do you ever feel overwhelmed, stressed, frustrated? Do you find yourself yelling at your kids or spouse over things that don’t really matter, because you’re feeling unsettled inside?

I know I have. And then I feel awful about it.

I’ve had my share of overwhelming days the kind where I wanted to go hide in my bed with my covers pulled over my head or get in my car and drive until I was far from the chaos of home.

We think living with high levels of stress is normal because it seems everyone’s doing it.

What if there’s a better way?

What if we feel more calm even if our outer circumstances didn’t change much? What if we could clear our heads and hearts enough that people around us started to notice?

What if it isn’t as hard as it sounds, and we could do it with others who are trying to cultivate calm in their lives as well?

Join me.

I’m so excited to announce the launch of a free 10-day challenge for cultivating calm. In this busy world, we can feel pulled in so many directions, we don’t know where to focus first. I developed this challenge to guide you through 10 days of learning how to feel more cozy, connected and balanced.

Calm isn’t something we evoke during times of stress. According to Dr. Arlene K. Unger, a clinical psychologist and wellness coach, “calm is a way of being in the world that helps us deal physiologically with daily stressors, and… promotes good health.”

I want that. I want to live in a place where I’m not so reactive to everything around me, but in a place where I can look with eyes of balance and wisdom at what’s going on.

James 1:19 says, “Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.” When our constant state is hurry, hurry, hurry, we find ourselves doing the exact opposite – speaking fast, and reacting without all the facts.

I want to live differently. I want to be a source of calm and light in this world. And I want you to be with me when I do it!

Let’s do this!

Starting on Monday, February 27 I’m going to be sending out 10-days of tips for cultivating calm in your life. I’m going to be actively talking about it on Facebook page and Instagram. I’m going to be challenging you to live differently with recipes, inspirational quotes, and real-life examples of how doing these things has changed lives.

You’ve witnessed my before and after on this blog. I want to see yours!  Join me now but entering your email in the box below and signing up, then follow my Facebook page or Instagram (or both) and let’s see how we feel in 10 days. Who’s with me?
