{Content} How to be happy in the midst of difficulty

January 31, 2016/#embracinghard

Hey guys!  I’m so excited for today’s post in which I share my very first video answering your questions from my Reader Survey 2016. In that survey, one of the questions was, “If you could ask me one question, what would it be?”  There were so many great responses ranging from basic information to deep, personal thoughts. I thought it would be fun to answer your questions in person – as if we were grabbing a coffee together (and I didn’t let you get a word in edge-wise!). Today we talk about being content. So here goes!

In today’s video, I share what strategies I use when I start to feel discontent or sorry for myself or my children when circumstances are unexpected or hard. Let me know in the comments what you think. I’d love to hear your strategies, too.

If you find this video helpful, pass it on to a friend via email or the social media buttons below. Don’t want to miss another video? Subscribe to my email list to get post alerts straight to your email box.

Hi Leighann….I really enjoyed your video session! It was great seeing you in “real- live person”….and hearing your voice! I loved what you said, and I totally agree with your advice on how to find contentment during hard circumstances. I think you can help lots of people out there who don’t know how to cope, or where to start when they want to move beyond the pain and sorrows of this life. We all face difficulties, trials, and tragedies at one time or another…and we all get into ruts, and we can start to wallow in the mud and feel stuck in our circumstances! Your suggestions on how to turn things in the right direction and how to start us on the path back to contentment are some of the very things I have done myself.
Being thankful for the things that are good in my life, counting my blessings, breathing the air deeply in while noticing the flowers, and the trees, and the sunshine! Looking around at all the good things, and the besuty in this world that God gave us to enjoy! I mean even watching this video blog session from my cute little friend who means alot to me, has “made my day!” ??
I have gone along with you (through your blog) on your journey with Ryan. My husband and I have counted it a privilege to pray for him, and for you and your family for many years! We rejoice along with you, and thank God for Ryan’s progress. We love seeing what your girls are doing and we were thrilled when Your last pregnancy brought you a healthy baby girl!
You are an amazing mother and a spunky little thing! Your book was so good! And just the other day I offered it to a lady who’s having a baby whose organs are forming on the outside of its body. I thought it would bring her hope, and help her to find strength.
Anyway, I admire you so much Leighann, and I’m glad you will be doing these sessions!
    Lots of love and prayers,
    Linda H.
