Because I only post about important things…

May 10, 2011/Miscellaneous
Look, in the scheme of things this is really, really important.
I bought a purse today.
Why is this so important? Because it’s the first purse I’ve bought in probably 10 years. Maybe 7.
Um…. still trying to remember when I bought my last purse.
Let’s just agree I didn’t have kids.
Okay, moving on.
I bought a purse that looks much like this one:

Cute, right? Fun… colorful…. bigger than the wallet I’m carrying into stores right now.
So here’s the big question, what does one put in a purse this size?

Don’t worry…before long it’ll be so full of stuff that doesn’t belong to YOU! You should probably only put your essentials in there to save room for the girls’ collections and things like snacks. Big purses can be so dangerous! But also very handy…you’ll always have your camera with you and a sweater in case you get chilly (or sweaters for the whole family)! 🙂

Super cute purse, by the way!!!

HA! does it have one compartment or two. Mine has two so in the one side I have my camera and my wallet and a few candies. The other section has my mp3 player with headphones, a few empty grocery bags ( in Canada they charge you .05 cents for every disposable bag you need in the grocery store) a small bottle of hand sanitizer, some pens, ( I’m grabbing my purse now to check what else I carry around every day) chap stick, deododorant, individually wrapped tea bags, hot chocolate mix, spare sunglasses, highlighter, hand lotion, old church bulliton (sp??) I NEED to clean out my purse NO wonder it’s so stinkin’ heavy!!!! **smirk**

My purse has everything I could need while out and about! It also has 2 compartments. One side has my wallet & camera. The other side has lotion, extra chapstick (there is usually one in my pocket & one in the small pocket of my purse as well), nail clippers, sunscreen, bandaids & neosporin, Advil, contact rewetting drops, hand sanitizer, a watch, my state parks guide and my cheat sheets for CPR (in case I ever may need them!)Then there are the pockets! I love pockets! One has hair pins and eye glass cleaners, one holds my phone, and one holds my gift card collection! And my purse really isn’t even all that big! Your new purse is very cute! I agree with Sarah about trying to keep some room in there for all your kids’ stuff! My kids are older now so I don’t need little snacks & toys & diapers & whipes in there anymore! ENJOY!!

I think the bigger the purse the more stuff we tend to put in it. I carry a purse just this size and I have found myself carry all kinds of things in it. My wallet, hand sanitizer, my planner, a few pens, some candy, gum,my work keys, my spare car keys, my bible, a book I am currently reading some clorox wipes(travel size),my son’s inhaler,oh yes and wow, I even carry an umbrella. I also find myself using it as diaper bag for quick store trips.

Wait just one second here lady…You haven’t bought a purse in how long??? I haven’t bought a purse in about 9 days! I hope you get on board with me and not vice a versa. I would be very sad without my purse fix. You did get a totally awesome tote (not purse) when you were in South America, remember the cow skin one? I LOVE that one!

Bonni, you’re so right! I did get a totally awesome bag that looks like a cow in Uruguay… Ainsley was 18 months. She’s now 4.5.That makes 3 years. I love that bag and still carry it. 🙂

Love the purse, I’m sure it will fill very quickly and alas you will hate carrying it while it’s so heavy and corralling three children…LOL…I only know from experience I know carry my little back pack….BTW you were much calmer about the bat thing then I would have done…Bravo…I’m not one of those who believes the “they are much more afraid of you, then you are of it”…stuff. So if I have a bat issue, I’m calling you..LOL. Too bad your in PA
