April Reading List 2012

I realized it’s the middle of the month and I haven’t put up my reading list yet. It’s really more for me than you… I’m trying to keep track of what I’m reading this year. Here’s April’s list.
By the way, I’m tossing around the idea of reading the Bible in 90 days for the three months of summer. It takes me about an hour a day – every day – to do it so doing it when the kids are home might be biting off more than I can chew. However, I’m seriously considering it. I did it a few years ago and really want to do it again. Anyone interested in joining me?

I listened to this one on tape in December, but wanted to read it and take notes. I remember it had very good advice for handling my second and third children!

    Good reads!

    I am on the third book of the Hunger Games trilogy. Loved the first 2 this one is ok.

    So you don’t want to go to church anymore. Wayne Jacobsen and Dave Coleman.

    Heaven is here on earth.

    I am also reading The Vow..Its not a romance book, but its the story about her healing jounery with lots of Faith and God thrown in.

    Good list, let me know how The Secret Fan is.

    I’m reading:
    One Thousand Gifts – and have been for awhile – her poetic style of writing is hard for me b/c I have to slow down my speed reading tendencies. But I’m determined to get through it.

    Next up is:
    Grace for the Good Girl – love Emily. do you read her blog? ‘Chatting at the Sky’

    Thunder & Rain by Charles Martin – love his books (you will cry but there is deep healing for some deeply hurt/broken people in each one). I’m not letting myself read it until I read the other two though. Which is SO hard for me. I have to make myself read non-fiction.

    Lisa – I agree about the Hunger Games books. I read them b/c my 6th and 8th graders were reading them. I really enjoyed them but was disappointed in the 3rd one – it’s like she ran out of steam.

    Snowflower and the Secret Fan is one of my favorite books. But I wouldnt recommend the movie – its was really disappointing and was very different from the book.
    My thoughts and prayers are with Ryan!
